This 10 min breakfast is quick and easy for those days where you just don't have time to be fancy in the morning. 

Nut butters are a great way to boost your protein intake in the morning and keep you feeling fuller for longer. Although they can be high in calories, those calories are packed with protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. (Peanut butter is a bit higher in protein, while almond butter has slightly more fiber, vitamins, and minerals.) 

Adding chia seeds on top will increase your fiber and protein intake as well as provide important nutrients for bone health.

INGREDIENTS: 

2 Tbs. natural peanut or almond butter 

1/2 cup frozen mixed berries

2 slices sprouted grain bread 

Shaved coconut/chia seeds 

HOW TO:

  • Place frozen berries in a pan on medium heat and let simmer for 5-7 minutes, until warm and gooey like jam to make a berry compote. 
  • Spread nut butter on freshly toasted bread and top with the berry compote. 
  • Sprinkle with shaved coconut and/or chia seeds.
